  • As a Polish Catholic myself, the passing of Pope John Paul II was an expected but terribly sad event. However, as I'm sure he is smiling down from heaven as we speak, Cardinal Ratzinger was made his successor and he may be even better than Pope JPII! He's an amazing Pope, exactly what the Church and the world needs, unapologetically adhering to and upholding the teachings of Christ in a world very hostile to the Christian message.

A big victory was the sacking of Saddam! This new pope, Pope Benedict, is serious about the anihaliation of terrorism. My husband was in Iraq when it happened and also when Uday and Qusay were killed. What great moments in 2005!

    Great post!
  • Thank you, Amy. I'll bet it was a collecticive "HOOAH" when news spread about Saddam's capture.

Thank you and your husband for his service to our country.

    God Bless you

  • Thanks for that post Ms. U.! I have always believed Ollie was a patriot, and nothing has ever changed my mind about him. Even in the news he serves his country with distinction, and many can learn from his example.
