About that Code-Pink woman in the 2nd picture:
She actually joined in singing "God Bless America" with me. When we concluded I told her there was still hope for her, to cross over from the dark-side and step into the light. She got so flustered, she turned and ran away. Made the 7 hour trip in the sleet worthwhile!

With the DC Park's estimate at (30,000?) counter protesters, I no longer question the Minneapolis media bias. It is now without doubt, a fact. None of the Twin Cities TV stations covered the Gathering of Eagles. One can only imagine this anti-war filtering went nationwide.

I also saw almost NO mention of any pro Bush, pro Troops, Pro-War demonstrations or demonstrators. I do believe I heard one mention in passing of "also some counter demonstrators." No Mention at all that I saw/heard/read about the GOE contingent, nor the possible threat to the Vietnam memorial.

Great montage of challenged citizens making idiots of themselves and their "cause." Except for the last guy, who actually seemed well spoken and to "ahve a clue" as he spoke about need to respect the President and the OFFICE of the President, and to show respect for our country. HE had my attention. The rest looked like time warped refugees from the 60s, homeless DC residents probably scooped up by antiwar "activists" to boost crowd numbers. I would bet 30% cannot even find Iraq on a Global map, none can explain geopolitical implications for interdicting potential WMD threats, nor draw a competent analogy between 2003 and Iraq and 1933-35 Germany and Europe.
Great postings as usual Ms U.

Oh man, I wish I was there. I would have pissed on the Fox mic.

    THanks ORION.
Until you find your way back and offer your typical idiot level insightful statement, we are never sure just how far off you are from reality. I would have LOVED to see you squat and pee on the microphone... hoping it was live and wired into a power source.

I recently watched the latest Dennis Miller segment, and he said something that I find myself ardently (look it up Orion) agreeing with. While Cindy Sheehan has expressed opinions I have serious conflicts with, in light of her son's having paid IN FULL for her right to free speech, as well as her paying same as a Gold Star Mother, I will forever grant her unchallenged free speech rights, without argument.
She has, as Mr. Miller said, paid her full ante to speak.

I, personally, get tired of hearing how Cindy Sheehan "paid in full for her right to free speech." Let's consider that for a moment, shall we? What did Cindy give? Did she give her son or did he of his own volentary will, join the armed forces? She does not respect his sacrifice, she does not respect what he did, she does not respect his peers, and she does not respect his beliefs. Did I leave something out? She has no connection whatsoever to anything her son did. In fact, she ardently protests against the very thing of which he was a part. In my mind, that means she didn't purchase anything. HER SON and OTHERS LIKE HIM purchased freedom of speech for ALL OF US. She has no special rights just because she lost a family member. She has the rights that everyone else has and I'm tired of wimpy peole, afraid of the PC crowd, who are willing to give her free reign and not question a thing she said because of her son. Her son and others like him died ensure the very opposite of that; namely, that ALL PEOPLE have the SAME freedom of speech.
