Gene Simmons has always been one of the more cerebral entertainers out there during interviews, so this stance of his is not surprising, in the least.

I never liked KISS but you did a fantastic job of unveiling how even the most privileaged among us melt in the presence of a soldier. This was really moving, and I'm an Army wife! I see this stuff all day long.

Thanks for posting this. Really great stuff...

President Bush is right - our enemy at home are the fatalists and the cynics who take freedom for granted and who don't realise that sometimes we have to die for our beliefs. Less than four thousand brave American souls have perished in this latest chapter in the fight for freedom. Sad, yes, but a pinprick compared even with Vietnam, which in turn was a small war. The leftist cynics suported war when they thought it would mean instant victory. Now, knowing as we do that this will take at least another ten or fifteen years of sacrifice, they clamour for surrender. As President Bush said, we must "Justify the sacrifice" - thank Christ we have a leader who understands the necessity for firm resolve, whatever the price.

Gene....what about the Coast Guard. My husband was an active duty "Coastie" over there in Kuwait, during the opening year of "Operation Iraqi Freedom",keeping the harbor safe so that our people in-land could get the supplies they needed. It sounds like "peaches and cream" but, it wasn't. It had its "fired up" times. The Coast Guard Reserve Units are doing a regular rotation there today.
We love "Family Jewels" but, now he says you can "Kiss" off.

    Dear Gene:
When my oldest son, who is serving proudly in the USAF, was deployed to Iraq for the third time, my doctor put me out of work due to stress. The hospital I was working for, then unpatriotically, and uncompassionately FIRED ME!!
My daughter,(also in the USAF), e-mailed a local journalist Bob Kerr, at The Providence Journal. He wrote an article on April 20, 2008. Please read it.
I know you have a special place in your heart for our troops. I hope you have one for their families, too.
    Sincerely,
    Jennie Angell jangell39@yahoo.com
