Reagan was and actor, first. Sonny Bono was a singer, THEN a successful (californian) politician. Fred Thompson was a highly regarded and successful politician and Senator BEFORE he became an actor and commentator. Al Franken was a mediocre comedian, then a mediocre radio host, and apparently wants to now be a politician.
