Because it surely hasn't been in the four short years that U.S. soldiers have been there.

Think about it for a second. That British journal study (that Alternet and a number of lefties claim is the truth) claims that more Iraqi civilians have been killed over the last 3 years than were German civilians killed during 5 years of intense Allied bombing during World War II.

If you THINK about it, it doesn't make any sense. Only to those who hate America enough to think the worst would even imagine something like that; it's logistically impossible.

Saddam killed that number of people over a 35-year reign of terror, but somehow the American government is more evil than Saddam Hussein and was able to do it in less than 1/5 the time, without chemical weapons! Imagine.

But THINKING isn't what leftists are known for; They're known instead for saying Bush is Hitler and manufacturing macabre grist for their antiwar, anti-American tirades.

Like this one: soldiers were harvesting organs from dead Iraqis. Equally as stupid if you think about the conditions an organ needs to be harvested under, and needs to be kept cold until it reaches its recipient, and how long can a harvested organ exist before it suffers necrosis? You'd need a teleporting device to make that stupidity work, and even then - we don't live in a star trek movie.

Stupidity is pretty consistent in leftyland, lol...it's pathetic when I read this stuff to think that some people really believe this hogwash.

AJ - I am assuming from your comment that you have read 1984, which does show that at some point you possessed the intelligence to understand it and remember it. Now, I pose a few questions for you.

One - leaving aside the FACT that Clinton (the left's night in sticky armor) awarded AT LEAST one no-bid contract to Haliburton, why is it that we are expected to wait until we are attacked to respond? Is there some rule that requires us to have THOUSANDS OF DEAD BODIES to "justify" going to war? I hope not, as I prefer a pro-active war where we are not merely responding to an attack.

Second, have you read the entire book? Do you not know that it was not the same type of person as today's conservative that created Oceana? In fact, the inner party are more like liberals, in that they want to control your thoughts, hate religion, and do not follow even the most simple of their own rules. Much like Animal Farm, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".

Last - Do you HONESTLY believe that the dems will "get us out of Iraq"? If so, you might want to take another class or 20 in U.S. Government. The President is the ONLY PERSON who can order a withdrawl, no matter what bills have been passed. By attaching a RETREAT timeframe (not to mention plenty of pork) to a funding bill, the dems are shooting their own feet, as there are plenty of people who will remind the entire country of this when 2008 rolls around.

So, no matter how much they try to claim they are "for the troops, just not the war", I WILL be there to ask them why they delayed DESPERATELY needed funding for only political reasons.

Now, any other cute references to books you feel make you smart, AJ? Trust me son, I'm sure I've read at least 25 times the number of books as you, and that number will only continue to grow!
