Of course, it's entirely up to you but it does seem rather like trying to fight irrationality with irrationality and if you wish to sway anyone then it is worth mentioning that people tend to stick with the stupity they already know. By resorting to faith then no reasonable alternative is presented and by reducing things to the level of irrational faith then any objection to your enemy can accurately be labelled as a crusade.
I hope this doesn't get on your nerves as I have enjoyed reading your site and I consider the information you collect to be valuable. I'm only concerned that there is no voice of reason if both sides are motivated by and armed with faith.
Even the Qur'an recognises athiests as worse than other "people of the book" because religion has no greater enemy than critical thought. Reason can highlight that faith has none.

I have not been able to sleep since. I sit anxoiusly in front of my television awaiting word of his whereabouts, and shockingly enough, I've been able to capture little if any information from Fox News. I've only been able to hear little tidbits on our local news channel seven. At first I thought maybe this was part of the negotiotions for their release, but then I thought: when has that ever gotten in the way of a big story? After more than ten years of loyal, faithful employment with Fox News, one would think this would merit at least a mention, right?
Anyway, my prayers are with Steve, and Wilig, and their families for their safe return.

"You are confusing Christians with the wackos like Islamists."
First, let's be clear on one point. I absolutely oppose the Islamists and their methods. Nothing I say, not one word, is in support or defence of them.
But what exactly is it that makes the Islamists wacko and the Christians not? Both groups’ core beliefs are based on faith, not reason. Today’s Islamic wackos are very much like the Christian wackos of the past and the bible still contains similarly nasty stuff as the Qur'an - it has not been revised. Both groups base their universal view on ancient texts written by people that didn't even know the reason why there is night and day. And you do so without a shred of supporting evidence and more than a millennium of contradictions built up by the continuing advance of human discovery.
If you do not separate your reasoning from that madness, and it is madness, then there is little to distinguish you except time line. Maintaining the same baseless foundational beliefs will inevitably lead to the rising and falling tides of fanaticism and we will see Christians repeat their horrors again, just as the Muslims are again repeating theirs.
The ideology is at fault. The lack of critical thinking and the promotion of this as a struggle between right and wrong faith, each supporting their own learned idiocy as the true idiocy and relying upon that idiocy to add legitimacy to their agendas and to deliver them from the evil other will not lead to this problem being solved. It will lead only to repetition until a significant number of people start to reason using evidence instead of defend and promote baseless faith.
It is belief without any grounding in known reality that leads to distorted action and reaction. I am simply trying to draw attention to that when people here respond to a faith based attack with a faith based response. Fighting stupid with stupid just isn't going to work.
You say that Christians are instructed to use their reason to understand their life and the will of God. But there is no reason understanding the will of God because belief in God is not based on reason - it is based on faith which by its very definition is belief without reason. It's invalid to assume your justice comes from your faith. Your faith, like theirs, is the well spring of irrational action and the pure injustice that is the primary product of that actions result.
Prayer and faith do reach where reason fails. They reach into the minds of fools, educated by faith based societies to be critically disabled, and inspire them to kill and pollute the minds and lives of their children with nonsense that has not one supporting fact.
Oppose Islam by all means, as do I. But you are just guaranteeing extremism for generations to come if you do so because of and armed with your personal and equally baseless faith.
