MsUnderestimated: “Go To War And Kill Veterans”

  • Gribbit · 3 years ago
Remember, the Tupac Shakur Center was paid for by none other than the American taxpayer. Federal funds were used to build that monument to a gang banger. As if the man made a significant postitive contribution to American culture, yeah right... and I have some ocean front property in Afghanistan to sell you if you believe that one.

We owe a lot to rap and rap artist, without the emergance of rap we would not have a robust talk radio. We would probably not have as many blogs as we have. People where chased away from "music" to other pleasures and for this I am thankful, for i've learned more about life and politics, than would have been possible otherwise.

Oh and Cynthia Mckinny! Is it only people like her that knows no shame.Don't they ever get embarassed,I guess you have to have a modicum of intelligence to feel embarassed, that lets her off the hook.

Just a side note.... WHAT AN AWESOME LOOKING BLOG! Fantatic upgrade. I love it!
  • Big Dog · 3 years ago
I must say that Cynthia the race baiting poverty pimp forgot to include how to punch a cop and get away with it.

The part about killing veterans is not good. But if they want to try I bet there are a bunch of vets who can shoot better (they don't hold the weapon sideways).

    knowamean? I'm wit ya homey....

BD, I'm trying to race-bait myself... hang in wit me, ai'ght? ;-)

    Options they see:
Go to war and kill veterans
    Prisons

That's the unedited version, in case anyone cares. It is a theme of the event, meaning that many youth of color see only two options, going to war and beconing veterans or spending time in prison. Broadening that view to positive options and empowerment through information may not appeal to the readers of this nonsense, but it does to young people who Rep. McKinney cares about and reaches out to with this event.

    Options they see:
Go to war and kill ------ veterans
    Prisons

I see when it posted that the hyphen between kill and veterans does not appear. I added a few this time. Not that this lack of a hyphen lead to your error, since nobody thinks you could go to war and kill veterans. Good luck getting the rest of reality right
  • MsUnderestimated · 3 years ago
Accuracy, you're just not yourself these days.

It's quite interesting that you should bring up the hyphen. It does show up when you do a copy/paste of that text into a blank field. However, it does NOT show up in the press realease. Coincidence? By the way, 'splain this to me if you can: what difference does the dash/hyphen make anyway? It still says "Go to war and kill -- veterans." What is that supposed to mean? It still reads the same to me. Nice try.

Oh, and you're saying I got it wrong - how can you get "copy/paste" wrong?
  • MsUnderestimated · 3 years ago
Oh, it's even changed today! No more hyphen - a question mark now after the word "kill." Funny how the press release was changed since my original posting about it.
  • accuracy · 3 years ago
As I said, hyphenation and the meanings and realities it represents are probably beyond your ability to read it correctly. Your version of the "press release" had it wrong is all I can say. But why bother with what was meant when you can stick to what was not for your nasty comments? I put it there for the sake of accuracy, for those who can read and those who know a positive event when they see one. Nuff said to the wise, nothing gets through to the rest.

Accuracy said: "As I said, hyphenation and the meanings and realities it represents are probably beyond your ability to read it correctly"

I ask: " You didn't answer my question about how the hyphenation changes the meaning? So, what is it? How does it change the meaning of the passage?"

Accuracy said: "Your version of the "press release" had it all wrong."

I say: "How can a copy/paste (you do understand what that is, don't you?) of the EXACT, verbatim, word for word of the press release make it "my version?" It's the verson of whomever released it - not mine.

Accuracy asked: "...why bother with what was meant..."

I say: "What do you mean 'what was meant?' It should not be what was "meant" by the person writing the press release; it should be exactly what is stated in the press release. I know something about press releases, as I've written hundreds of them, and my major in college was Journalism/PR. I know the industry rules when writing press releases. You write what you mean - you're not supposed to make your intended audience opine what you mean.

Accuracy said: "I put it there <the hyphen="hyphen"> for the sake of accuracy..."

I ask: "Again... what does the hyphen lend to accuracy, except a small dash between two words? You still have yet to explain what difference it makes in its context."

Accuracy said: "...and those who know a positive event when they see one...."

I wonder: "Positive? writing about killing veterans is positive?"

*sigh*... I don't even know why I try. You can't enlighten the unconscious. You must be a member of the ThugLifeArmy... such an upstanding-sounding organization! If you're not, sorry I painted you in the same light.

Thanks and come back after the event and blog about what grand social advances are made during the process.</the>

    Peace,
I stumbled on to this site by mistake. I can't believe some of the ignorant ass comments made! Obviously, y'all don't know or care about Hip Hop, oppressed people, or making something out of nothing. Most of y'all NEED to come to Hip Hop Powershop, you may learn a thing or two! Free your MIND and your ass will follow, nahmean?!
  • MsUnderestimated · 3 years ago
    Joe Kool:

I do know a thing or two about Hip Hop, and all of my black friends are embarassed by the Hip Hop Community. And, no, I don't care about Hip Hop. Opressed people? Who is the "opressed people" you speak of? Please explain that sentence of yours; the syntax makes the phrase "making something out of nothing" impossible to understand. And, no thank you, I don't "need" to go to the Hip Hop Powershop. I've experienced enough embarassment by just being from the same state as McKinney; I don't need to further embarassed by being in the same room as she. Exactly, what is it that I would learn? Could you please cite a couple of examples?

It's obvious that you've already freed your mind - in fact, it sounds as though it's vacuous, completely clear of anything. Worried about your ass being free? A good Fleets will take care of that one!

    Have fun!
